Hello Gerard and Ellie,

i would like add few information about NP / stochastic / FM screening (as you like).

One of the biggest web offset printing company, part of group Goldmann (Austria) use Alwan CMYK Optimizer (it was bought througt their mother company, not through me). They have many web presses, but they wanted to make new ICC profiles on Heidelberg M600 press. They wanted to make ICC for many different type of screening, included AM and FM screening. AM screening was common 175 lpi plus hybdrid screening Kodak MaxTone, for FM screening we used Specta (Dainippon Screen) and Staccato (Kodak).

Alwan CYMK Optimizer was prepared for conversion form ISOcoated_v2 to custom ICC profile (regarding screening). Than we made test, the same image was printed in every screens types and everything was compared with dogital proof (which simulates ISOcoated_v2).

Result was excellent. Every picture was the same and perfectly fit to proof. I would like to say, we did not use curves and ISO profiles for standardisation, we recomended for ours client to use custom ICC profile for both action and we belive that we reach better result.

Bets regard
